My name’s Chris and I don’t like attending weddings

However I love hiding behind my cameras and making art without disturbing anyone. I’m always happy to hear that I was invisible for much of the day as I flit around taking photos.

For years I didn’t want to promote my wedding/celebration photography work as I don’t really want to be at big social gatherings every week, herding people around and posing them over and over - it takes a lot out of me! Recently, however, I realised there is a market for candid, un-posed work, and I can restrict the number of events I shoot each year to give my full attention to every client. So here we are: Tempetual is an art first, candid photo & video proposition with limited spaces.

I’m taking on a maximum of 10 clients per year because for my own creative fulfillment I want to be involved with every stage of the process. I would not enjoy this kind of photography if I had to outsource half the work and use AI culling software. To me, this takes away the personal touch that makes your day special. This might mean my services are more costly than some, but I know there are others out there who want to support creatives in a world that’s becoming less authentic by the day. Tempetual is about capturing fleeting moments from our most valuable days and creating pieces of artwork to keep forever

I have a background in Physics and Engineering. I studied at The University of Sheffield, but spent those 3 years increasingly frustrated at the lack of creative expression allowed in my field. So, while studying, I started taking on paid photography work and fell in love with the process. I really enjoy the tactility of using precision machinery and electronics, the spatial thinking that guides unique compositions, and the immediate creation of something that didn’t exist moments ago. So, after 2 partially completed degrees I committed to my photography (and fitness class) work. Many moons have passed and I’ve been a professional for 8 years now.

I’ve taken on work from every genre imaginable, but with Tempetual I am focussing on my favourite - and in my opinion best - kind of wedding/celebration photography. Tempetual prioritises the art of taking fleeting moments and distilling them into everlasting physical pieces.

The entire process uses all my skills and combines my technical understanding of Physics, optics, light, and electronics with my creativity and drive to make something new and different.
